About Us
The club is situated at the western end of Pine Avenue that is just north of the Gibbons Street exit from State Highway 2 and River Road. Club membership presently stands slightly in excess of one hundred and eighty members who play on Monday, Thursday evenings and Wednesday, Friday afternoons.
Our playing sessions are not graded. Monday night sessions are attended by all standards of players, Thursday night sessions are for experienced players who have been playing for two to three years after completing lessons. The Wednesday and Friday afternoon session are regarded as a social afternoon when players stop half way through the playing session for afternoon tea.
Visitors are most welcome and should contact the relevant convenor, to ensure space is available at a table and to obtain a playing partner if required. Our membership takes pride in extending the hand of friendship to all new members and visitors. A feature of our clubrooms is the provision of access and separate toilet facilities for handicapped members.
A series of lessons are provided for those wishing to learn the fascinating game of Bridge.
Our club conducts its own tournaments and members participate within those organised by the Wellington Bridge Centre. The club enters teams in a tournament amongst Wellington based clubs on Friday evenings once a month from February through November inclusive.
